CTET and KVS exams

The CTET or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test is a national level exam. It is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE, twice a year. It is a minimum eligibility criteria test. On passing this exam the aspirant becomes eligible to teach the student of Class 1 to 8. There are 2 papers held in CTET. On qualifying the CTET paper 1, the candidate becomes eligible to teach the students of Class 1-5. On qualifying the CTET paper 2, the candidate becomes eligible to teach the students of class 6-8.

KVS exam is of different pattern from CTET. The exam pattern and syllabus for KVS exam for various posts is different. In this article we will deal with only the KVS TGT post. 

There are 2 parts to the KVS exam. The Part 1 has : General English and General Hindi. 

Part – II comprises of General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Reasoning Ability, Computer Literacy, Pedagogy and the Subject concerned.

The whole exam is of 150 minutes. Both the papers together comprise of 150 marks.There are 150 questions in total. Hence there is an element of time crunch which makes the speed and accuracy a necessary trait within the aspirants. There is only an average of 1 minute per question. Hence practice is very essential to crack the KVS exam.
